Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this is the right group to pose my question about Using Access.

Understand that the normal way of using is User must have Ms Office-Access in
order to use the application.

As I had a fully operational application developed using Ms Office-Access,
but certain terminal in my company does not have Access installed.

Any suggestions, any one ? (Eg: I was suggested using Visuo software that
save as a .exe file to serve as a 'bridge' between User that do not have Ms
Access installed in their system and Access Applications that is residing in
company server)

You can develop your Access database, and use the runtime version to run it
on machines that don't have Access installed.

The Access 2007 runtime is a free download:

Works here, so I don't know what to suggest.

You may need to talk to your network administrator if you don't have the
rights to download.

Watch the line break: it's a long link. Here's a shorter one that has the
Access Runtime link (2nd one under Updates/Hotfixes.)

Hi Allen,

It occurs to me that it is for Access 2007 environment. I log in as
adminstrator to set up on PC1 (Where Access Software present) it is fine.
However when I tried to install Access Runtime.exe on PC2 (Which doesn't have
any Access) it does not works, message " The installation of this package
failed"

Also can I just check what should I do after I install it?

Regards, Edison

Yes: the free runtime is for Access 2007.

If a user has an earlier version of Access installed, you can probably use
that. If they don't have Access at all, you can use the runtime.

If the installation fails you will need to find out why. For example, the
user may be logged into Windows as a limited user (not a local computer
administrator, and so may not be able to install software.

Sorry, Edison. I don't recognise that message as coming from Access.

Perhaps someone in one of the Windows group could suggest something.
